Summer Sampler Quilt Along

This weekend was the weekend of the flying geese!  I sewed up 92 of these little guys to make some vertical sashing for my Summer Sampler quilt top.  I am very pleased with the way that it turned out!  I wanted to do something different then just putting the blocks in rows and so I went with arranging them on-point instead.  I think that it made the quilt a little bit bigger and gave more attention to each individual square.

I took this picture at 11:30 at night and so the lighting is poor, I know.  I will certainly take some better photos once I get this one quilted and bound. 

I had a lot of fun with my very first on-line quilt along!  Thanks so much to Lee, Faith, and, Katie for all their hard work and excellent tutorials!  One of my new skills that I acquired in this quilt was the strip piecing as well as even more practice with paper piecing.  I will certainly use what I've learned in future quilts!
